Pre/Post Partum Therapy

Pregnancy can change the body in many ways.  The increase in hormones creates more elasticity to occur in our joints and ligaments that can lead to pain and abnormal movements if not strong and supported.  It is important for mothers to learn how to increase strength in specific muscles to protect their spine but also to prevent disorders such as incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain and diastasis recti.

How therapy can help

By working with a trained therapist, a patient can learn how to return to exercise safely post partum.  She will learn how to safely and efficiently strengthen the specific muscles of the core and pelvic floor to treat and prevent prolapse, incontinence, pelvic pain and diastasis. Most importantly, she will learn posture, ergonomics, and breathing techniques that will prevent further injury so she can be the SUPER MOM she wants to be!
